A teenager from Walthamstow has been arrested in connection with an investigation into homophobic harassment by "Muslim vigilantes".
The 17-year-old was held by officers this morning after a video was posted on the internet of a young man being taunted for being gay in a "Muslim area".
The Met says it does not know where the video was filmed or when, but officers from Tower Hamlets are investigating and the gang behind the video is thought to be based in Whitechapel.
Four other men have been arrested, aged 19, 22, 25 and 29, on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and public order offences.
The 22-year-old is from Acton but the addresses of the other men have not been released.
Police are appealing for the man in the video to come forward.
