A cyclist was killed this morning in a hit and run accident.
The man was hit on Gainsborough Road, close to Leytonstone tube station, at around 6.30am.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car fled the accident, but a suspect was found nearby and was arrested along with two other men.
The cyclist has not yet been formally identified and his next of kin have not yet been informed.
A London Ambulance spokesman said: "Sadly despite extensive treatment he was pronounced dead at the scene by the doctor."
The cyclist is reported to be a man in his 30s.
Gainsborough Road remains closed in both directions between Lemna Road and Fairlop Road.
Buses are still stopping at the tube station.
