CCTV images have been released of two men police are trying to trace after a man was hit by a car in a petrol station.

On November 29 last year a red Renault Laguna was filled up with £81 worth of fuel at the Texaco garage in Hall Lane, Chingford, at around 2.50pm.

The car was driven off without paying after hitting a 51-year-old-member of staff who tried to stop the two men leaving the forecourt.

The member of staff stood infront of the car, waving his arms in an attempt to stop the car from driving away, but ended up being thrown onto the bonnet of the car.

The driver then slammed on the brakes, causing the member of staff to fall on the floor.

He suffered injuries to his legs and back and has since been released from North Middlesex hospital.

After fleeing the garage, the car headed towards the North Circular in the direction of Billet Roundabout.

The driver is described as white and aged between 30 to 40 years old.

He is approximately 5ft 11ins with short receding black hair and was wearing a red hoodie with blue jeans.

The passenger is described as white and aged between 25 and 35 years old.

He had short black hair and was wearing a dark hoodie and blue jeans.

Anyone who knows the identity of the two men should email Waltham Forest police at JC-VIIDO@met.police.uk or phone 101.

I thought all garages took CCTV pictures of number plates before releasing fuel to the pump so why no details? It is a bit late to show this man now, he has probably either committed a dozen more similar crimes since then and/or skipped the country.
Paying before getting fuel seems to be the answer to this.

In Sainsburys petrol station in Beckton I've had to wait nearly 5 minutes to get petrol so their anpr camera could see my car.

Than again, you may seem a dodgy character to them?
