A pensioner accused of sexual assaulting a woman in a park has been released on bail.
The 70-year-old was arrested after a 41-year-old woman was indecently assaulted in Chase Lane Park in Chingford on Thursday at about 4pm.
She was walking her dog when she saw a man gesturing at her, who then approached her before sexually assaulting her.
As the man walked away, the woman called her boyfriend, who rushed to the park and managed to catch the assailant, holding him until police arrived.
The pensioner is now on bail until Friday, March 8 despite police investigating whether the man may be responsible for other offences in the area.
