A cyclist who was killed in a hit-and-run crash died of multiple injuries, a post mortem has concluded.
The 56-year-old died after being run over by a silver Peugeot 206 in Gainsborough Road, Leytonstone, at around 6.30am on Saturday.
The Met has today released details of the post mortem as they prepare to formally identify the man on Wednesday.
His next of kin have been informed.
The car was found abandoned in Bushwood shortly afterwards.
It is believed the occupants in the car left the vehicle and ran across Wanstead Flats.
Three teenagers, aged 16, 18 and 19 were later arrested in connection with the incident by police in Leytonstone.
They have since been released on bail.
