Police seized what they believe to be a dangerous dog yesterday.
Local officers and the dog enforcement team used a warrant to take the pit bull from an address in Hibbert Road, Walthamstow, at 7.55am after being tipped off by the local community’s complaints about the animal.
PC Mario Tavasoli, from Lea Bridge Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "We take all complaints around dangerous dogs seriously. This highlights our commitment to the local community that we will not allow people to use dangerous dogs to intimidate people.
"If you have any knowledge of dangerous dog activity, the mistreatment of dogs or any other animals or if you have any crime related concerns please contact your local Safer Neighbourhoods Team in confidence or contact police via the non emergency number 101.”
No arrests have yet been made.
