Staff from Barclays Bank joined forces with the police and the fire brigade to host a talk on community safety.

The talk was delivered in front of customers and residents at the branch in George Lane, South Woodford on February 5.

Customers were invited into the branch after hours to hear about safety updates to their home, which included advice on bank and card fraud, bogus callers and fire safety.

Sergeant Chris Chandler from Redbridge police said: "This is an excellent example of the bank working in partnership with the police and fire brigade to help protect elderly and vulnerable residents.

"Approximately 20 people came to the event, all of whom reported they felt safer and better informed."

Redbridge police aim to hold future community safety talks throughout the area.
