Residents of all ages will gather next week to celebrate the first birthday of a popular community centre.
A day activities has been planned to mark a successful first year at the Limes Centre, Chigwell, with workshops ranging from a bingo session to a DJ lesson.
Community Development Officer, Patrick Arnold said that the staff and volunteers at the £1m development will spend the day entertaining visitors, but will also be on site to offer them practical advice.
He said: “The martial arts group will be there, and the arts team. There will also be activities for older visitors, like seated exercise.
“In the other hall an information centre will be set up where people can get advice on volunteering, housing and local NHS services.”
The centre provides a facility for local events, clubs and even wedding receptions at reduced rates for the entire community.
Members of the Epping Forest Youth Council will be attending the event on February 27, to help out and engage with local residents.
Anybody is welcome to join the anniversary celebration which will run from 2-7pm. Epping Forest District Council is keen for people with suggestions on how to improve the centre to go along and tell them what they would like to see in the future.
