Choirs are joining up for musical extravaganza, which will see groups young and old getting together for one sensational singing event.

The annual Festival of Choirs, for groups within 12 miles of Ongar, will be held on May 11, in new venue, the Zinc Arts Centre.

Musical groups will have the chance to meet a panel of accomplished musicians, who will give them constructive feedback on their performances.

Organisers, Ongar Rotary Club, are still looking for choirs to join and say that all types of choir from adult, to youth and even school groups are welcome to attend.

There will be the chance to perform in front of an audience of the public, and family and friends who come along to support.

Choirs can enter free of charge for the event which will be held in the memory of former Rotarian, Frank Collins.

Tony Moore, the Festival’s chief organiser, said: “This will be an exciting event which will give amateur groups the chance to show-off their talents.

“The Zinc Arts Centre studio is the perfect setting for the performance.”

Any choir which may wish to enter themselves should call Tony Moore on 01279 415563 or send him an email, at moorsie3@sky.com.
