Songs and music from the Second World War will precede an illustrated lecture on the period.
Russell Bowes will give the lecture entitled Dig for Victory on March 15 at Valentines Mansion, in Emerson Road, Ilford.
Tickets for the event cost £10 and can be bought by calling John and Audrey Manuel on 020 8554 9760.
The event starts at 7.30pm and the ticket includes a drink during the interval.
