Two long-lost relatives of acclaimed photographer David Bailey are appealing for help getting tickets to his sold-out talk at Walthamstow's William Morris Gallery next week.

The 75-year-old snapper, who is originally from Leytonstone, is coming to the museum in Forest Road on Wednesday as part of events to mark an exhibition of his work there.

Tickets for the talk sold out soon after going on sale, much to the dismay of 64-year-old Coral Baker, of Fyfield Road in Walthamstow.

Ms Baker is a cousin of Mr Bailey and her mother, 88-year-old Peggy Bailey, is his aunt.

But they haven't seen the famous photographer since the 1960s after losing touch.

Staff at the William Morris Gallery are trying to find space for the pair at the event, but Ms Baker is also appealing for the public in case anyone who has tickets is now unable to attend.

She said: "We haven't seen him in such a long time. We've tried in the past to contact his people through the internet to get in contact but it hasn't worked.

"It would be such a shame for him to come so close to where we live and miss this opportunity.

"If we have to we'll wait outside the gallery so we can speak to him before he goes in, but myself and my mother would like to go inside if we can. If anyone can help we'd so most grateful."

Contact Ms Baker on 0776-1779-461 if you can help.

The David Bailey exhibition runs at the museum until May 26. Visit  www.wmgallery.org.uk or call 020 8496 4390 for more information.
