A volunteer who has spent years helping three charities has been given an award.
Maureen Owens, who supports St John Ambulance, the Stroke Association and the Phab Club for youngsters with disabilities and able-bodied children, was handed the Service Above Self award by Epping Rotary Club last night.
Club president Richard Crone said: “Maureen’s commitment and dedication shines through and she was a worthy recipient of the award.”
The head teacher of St John’s School in Epping, George Yerosimou, and its head boy and girl spoke about its £18 million redevelopment during the awards ceremony.
