Stuck for something to do over Easter?

Then head over to Shoreditch for the Easter Film Hop, three days of Easter weekend fun with a sing-a-long and dance-a-long, screenings, Easter activities and silent discos.

At Leonard Street car park, from Friday, March 29 until Sunday, March 31, you’ll be able to experience films on the giant screen, with wireless headphones allowing you to dance, drink and party along to the movie at your heart’s content. Then dance the night away with a headphone disco.

Grab your leather jackets, comb and Pink Ladies get-up as Friday night to join Danny and Sandy for an all singing, all dancing screening of Grease.

It will feel like summer has arrived early as you belt out all the classic hits including Summer Nights, Born to Hand Jive, You’re The One That I Want, Grease Lightnin’ and Well-a Well-a.

Saturday is boogie time as Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey grace our screen for the 1987 cult classic Dirty Dancing. You’ll be shaking your hips to Do You Love Me and potentially flattening a good friend by attempting The Lift! Everyone who brings a watermelon will get a free watermelon cocktail.

Sunday’s finale is left to no other than the high priest of pop with a very special concert style screening of Academy and Grammy award-winning Purple Rain. Wave your hands in the air and salute the mini wonder as he belts out hit after hit including I Would Die 4 U, When Doves Cry and Let’s Go Crazy.

All screenings are non-seated affairs. A ‘70s and ‘80s dress up box will also be available for any of you that fancy a bit of last minute fancy dress, and The Book Club bar and a fine array of street food and cocktails will be in full flow to make sure all your party needs are met.

And the party doesn’t stop there as after every screening will be an exclusive ‘70s and ‘80s-inspired silent disco, so you can dance the night away.

Fancy dress is not enforced but encouraged.

Easter Film Hop, Leonard Street car park, Shoreditch, starts at 4pm. Screening: 6.30pm/7.30pm, silent disco until 10pm. Details: www.experiencecinema.com
