A club is hoping to turn big screen dreams into reality for wannabe film makers as it opens its doors to new members.
The Walthamstow Amateur Cine Club will offer a helping hand and a place to practice for budding movie makers as of May.
WACC believes that Waltham Forest is a hotbed for talent with many groups and even a film festival in the area.
Chairman Paul Reilly says that the club will open next month for people of all levels of ability to give film making a go. He said:
"We're really pleased to be an active part of this community, providing a focus for amateur film makers to learn the art, share skills and know-how and help each other make films, whatever the level.
"Movie cameras are everywhere, even smart phones have high definition cameras, and more and more people are wondering how they can make the jump to filming and editing their own home movies or first short films.”
An open evening will be held for people to see what the club does and register their interest on May 16.
From 8pm presentations and demonstrations will be given to guests, along with a studio tour at the club’s premises at Stafford Hall, St.Barnabas Road, Walthamstow.
Anyone who would like to attend the open evening should email waccpost@wacvc.org.uk.
