A controversial nightclub has had its hours cut following a number of violent incidents.

Funky Mojoe in High Road, South Woodford, has been ordered to close at 11pm between Sunday and Thursday, and 11.30pm on Friday and Saturday, with all customers required to leave by midnight.

Redbridge Council's Licensing Sub-Committee also decided to suspend the venue's licence completely for six weeks.

However, the ruling will not come into force for 21 days and the club's owners have the right to appeal.

The review hearing was yesterday shown CCTV of various violent incidents outside the nightspot.

Funky Mojoe's lawyer earlier walked out of the meeting when his request for an adjournment was turned down.
