A mediaeval knight on stilts took to the streets of Ilford as Redbridge celebrated St George’s Day.
Sir Lupin (AKA Tony Heales) roamed the town centre looking for dragons, although sadly none turned up.
The stilt walker contented himself with handing out flags to children who were also given the chance to enjoy a traditional Punch and Judy show at Redbridge Central Library.
Elsewhere youngsters hunted for dragon eggs at Valentines Mansion, while over in South Woodford regulars at the George pub in George Lane enjoyed an evening visit from some Morris dancers.
Regulars at the Uplands Social club in Woodford Bridge had additional reason to cheer the patron saint, as the club handed out free pints to toast St George.
