A teacher surprised her pupils by cycling to work the day after she completed the London Marathon.
Pippa Dowswell, 49, who teaches science at Sir George Monoux College in Chingford Road, Walthamstow, completed the 26.2-mile route in four hours and four minutes and was fit enough to cycle to work the next day.
She said: "It felt great to finish it. I think they were amazed when they saw me come in."
Her 14-year-old daughter Jazz also ran the last three miles of the race, after being selected to take part in the MiniLondon Marathon after being one of the top eight runners of her age group in the borough.

Waltham Forest Community Credit Union chief executive Michelle Howlin also ran the race with colleagues Victoria Walker and Linda Magill, carrying a bucket along the way which raised £500 for the union.

She said: "We all finished just about. We did regret carrying it at 11 miles when it got quite heavy."
