A woman marked her 105th birthday today by celebrating with her friends and family.
Staff at The Spinney Care Home in Chingford also joined the party as Rose Rose was visited by nephew John Walker and his family to mark the special day.
She is the oldest resident at the care home in Forest View, and shared her birthday with the place’s youngest resident, 76-year-old Christine Smith.
But it was Mrs Rose who took the limelight, with a birthday cake, flowers and even a card from the Queen to congratulate her on the milestone.
Care home administrator Carol Kendle said: “We have had a lovely day and Rose has had a great time. She was delighted at the card from the Queen. She’s a bright and remarkable lady. We love having her here.”
