Flats in Maybank Road where the woman was rescued
A woman was rescued from the second floor of a burning flat in South Woodford last night.
Firefighters from Leytonstone and Woodford fire stations used ladders to reach the woman at the blaze in Maybank Road.
The woman was treated for shock by the London Ambulance Service at the scene and a second elderly woman was also treated for minor burns on her hand.
Neither woman was taken to hospital.
The Brigade were called at at 7.55pm and the fire was put out shortly after 8.30pm.
