A man arrested by armed police in Wanstead High Street yesterday is appearing in court today.
Wayne Colligan, 42, of Chafford Hundred in Essex, has been charged with attempted robbery and possession of a firearm.
He was arrested shortly after 9am yesterday in an operation where Flying Squad officers fired breaching rounds to disable a van he was driving.
He is due to appear at Thames Magistrates' Court this morning.
