Borehamwood Youth Under-18s rounded off their season by finishing top of the Watford Friendly League Red Division after they beat Alexandra Park East 3-2.

The side had previously won the League and Challenge Cups earlier in the year and the Under-18s secured the title to complete a treble winning season.

Borehamwood faced Alexandra Park East two weeks prior in the League Cup final, and were looking to repeat the success from this match.

Within three minutes Wood were in front when James Blyth scored a tap-in after a reactive save by the opposition goalkeeper following a Robert Frost header.

The lead didn’t last long with Alexandra Park equalising after 19 minutes.

Another corner from Martin Garvey resulted in a goal as Frost rose highest, and this time beat the opposing goalkeeper to make it 2-1 on the half-hour mark.

But Park levelled again eight minutes later to leave the scores level at half-time.

The second period started off slowly but a tactical change for Borehamwood paid dividends, when Sam Shaban fed the ball into Flo Bojaj to score with 15 minutes left.

A late surge from Alexandra Park saw them hit the post and force goalkeeper Connor Sanson into a double save to preserve the lead.

Despite finishing top of the table and having a higher goal difference than joint leaders Maccabi, league rules dictate that the trophy is to be shared between both teams.
