The sentencing of nursery bosses and a worker over the death of a toddler has been postponed.
Casterbridge Care and Education and Kayley Murphy of Greenfields in Loughton were due to be sentenced for health and safety breaches at Chelmsford Crown Court today following the death of Rhiya Malin at Eton Manor nursery in Chigwell in 2007.
Judge Karen Walden Smith heard arguments from the prosecution and mitigation yesterday and today and was expected to sentence both parties this afternoon.
But the sentencing has been postponed until two weeks’ time, on June 28.
