Walthamstow Toy Library and Play Centre is celebrating after being given a gold listing on the mother’s website Netmums.com.

Centre manager Helen Crockford said: “The Netmums awards are the parenting Oscars so we are delighted to have won.”

The awards attracted thousands of votes from Netmums members around the UK with the aim of highlighting users’ favourite places to go with their children.

The group will get a winner’s certificate and badge and a gold listing on the website’s Toddler Group section, which the group says is used by more than one million mothers each week.

The group, run from the Comely Bank Community Clinic in Ravenswood Road, Walthamstow, is open to children under five-years-old and has been running for 38 years.
