Ninjas from across the world dropped into a pub to practice their moves.

People who practice the martial art Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu met at the Rainbow and Dove pub in Hastingwood on Saturday to practice martial arts using fighting sticks and their bare hands.

Organiser Norman Smithers said: “It was a perfect day. Around 70 people from Ireland, Malta and Germany, as well as England and Scotland, came down.

“The martial art itself is over 1,000 years old. It’s ninja stuff, although that’s just part of what we study.

“It’s quite a natural way of moving and we use sticks as well as empty-handed combat.

“Every year for the past 10 years, we've had a martial arts seminar with an instructor who teaches what's being taught in Japan.”
