A community day has been organised to raise money for residents of a care home.

The summer fete at Pinewood Care Home, Chigwell, will include stalls, traditional games, archery and a bouncy castle for children.

Staff at the Manford Way care home have organised the event to collect for the Residents’ Activities Funds, which pays for the residents, most with dementia, to enjoy hired entertainment and outings.

The home’s manager, Denise Brown, said: “Our residents are very sociable so we thought what better way to kick start the summer than to welcome our local community for an afternoon of brilliant activities and fun for people of all ages. Please do join us for what promises to be an enjoyable day.”

On Saturday, July 6, the event will run from 2pm until 5pm.
