The Village Bookshop in Woodford Green is changing its opening hours to allow customers to take advantage of free parking in the area after 6pm.
The independent store, in the High Road, will now open between 10.15am and 7pm Monday to Saturday.
However it will also now close every Wednesday.
The shop, which has been in business for more than 30 years, changed management in January.
New owner Tan Dhillion has previously raised concerns to Redbridge Council about the impact of parking restrictions in the area on businesses.
The authority is currently undertaking a review of parking in the High Road following a request by Mr Dhillion.
