The London Fire Brigade has launched an investigation into a fire in a property above a shop in Ilford this morning.
The blaze broke out at the property in Green Lane at about 7.30am today.
Firefighters took an hour to bring it under control.
A spokesman for the brigade said: "The fire damaged part of a maisonette on the building’s first and second floors.
"Four fire engines and 21 fire-fighters and officers from Ilford and Dagenham fire stations attended the incident."
There are no reports of any injuries.
