Thousands of people turned out to have fun and watch local groups perform at a town show over the weekend.
Waltham Abbey Town Show featured fairground rides, ferret racing and marches by Epping Forest Pipe Band, as well as demonstrations by community groups, including dance and martial arts.
Kathryn Richmond, clerk for Waltham Abbey Town Council, which has organised the show for the past few years, said: “It seemed very busy, with probably 4,000 people over the two days.
“It attracts a lot of people. We had some visitors from America and although I don’t think they visited especially, they made it part of their trip.
“The ferret racing was such fun. They were in tubes and the first tail out won.
“Two of them turned around and came out of the tubes’ entrances.
“The pipe band was wonderful, as always.”
The show has been going for more than 10 years and the council started running it about three years ago.
