A winner of The Apprentice will attend a careers event in Walthamstow to advise on how to get hired.

Tim Campbell MBE, winner of the first series of The Apprentice, will attend the Inspiring the Future event along with dozens of employers at Walthamstow Assembly Hall in the Town Hall complex on July 10 from 10am until 4pm.

Young people aged between 14 and 18 who are unsure about the career path they want to take are encouraged to attend.

The event will give attendees the opportunity to receive advice on how to create or improve CVs and how to match their personalities, interests and skills to the right job for them.

Employers in attendance come from industries including catering, hospitality, security, business administration, customer services, hairdressing and IT.

The council, its partner Ascham Homes and construction company Osborne will also be there to offer information about apprenticeships and job opportunities.

There will also be help with completing application forms for jobs, colleges and training opportunities and attendees are welcome to bring the forms with them.

A council spokesman said there is a chance companies will be offering job interviews on the spot.
The event is organised by the council and the National Apprenticeship Service.
