Transport for London will take over the running of a major train line, it has announced.

The Tube provider is set to take responsibility for the running of trains between Liverpool Street and Chingford from 2015, as well as lines to Enfield Town and Cheshunt.

Chingford station will remain under the control of Greater Anglia, but all other stations on the line, including Highams Park and Wood Street and St James Street in Walthamstow, will be handed to TfL.

London mayor Boris Johnson claimed the move would improve journeys for passengers and create jobs.
