A school celebrated a term that saw it commended by inspectors with an animal-themed concert.
Pupils in Year 2 at The Alderton Infant School in Loughton performed the concert for parents shortly after they learned it had been rated as good by Ofsted.
Inspector Brian Netto said: “Experienced leaders and managers, including governors, have made sure the school has continued to improve.
“By the time children leave, their attainment is above average. Pupils show care and respect for each other, and the school provides a safe and happy learning environment.”
The report said teachers at the Alderton Hall Lane could make the school outstanding by giving pupils more chances to solve problems, making better use of classroom assistants and marking maths work more effectively.
Head teacher Sharon Dalby said: “We are all delighted by the report and are really happy that all the hard work put in by both the teachers and the children has been recognised.”
