Organisers behind this year's Highams Park Day want to create a ‘mini Glastonbury’ atmosphere, with families able to relax and listen to live music.

Hundreds are expected to attend the festival celebrating the local community this weekend, which is now in its sixth year.

The event will start with The Stow Caledonia Pipe Band marching from Highams Park Station to Vincent Green, off Vincent Road in Highams Park at 11.45am on Saturday, July 13, before the festival officially opens at 12pm at Vincent Green, off Vincent Road.

People can walk behind the band if they wish, and the event will kick off with a range of music including rock, folk and gospel choir.

Around 50 stalls will feature games, barbecue and other food, and selling items like plants, cakes and refreshments.

There will also be morris dancing and a variety of demonstrations throughout the day, which lasts until 4pm.
