Fundraisers are on course to donate £75,000 to the district’s hospice after a sponsored walk on one of the warmest nights of the year so far.

About 900 walkers, many dressed in tutus, sparkly tops and fluorescent wigs, took part in the Midnight Walk in Harlow and raised the money for St Clare Hospital in Hastingwood. on Saturday.

The amount hospice staff hope to raise from the event after all the sponsorship money is in would pay for the running of the in-patient unit for 19 days.
