A school teacher arranged an exhibition for her students which is set to be seen by thousands.

Sharon Wales, art teacher at Chigwell School, saw an opportunity for her talented pupils at a Tourism Island ticket shop, in Charing Cross Road.

Art based on the capital is displayed for thousands of tourists at the store, close to the National Portrait Gallery.

Mrs Wales approached company TheatrePeople, which runs the shop selling tickets, and asked if they would display work of competition winners.

Thrilled that they agreed, Mrs Wales said: "I thought it was a fantastic project to put together, in that it links in to the artists that they were studying, including Banksy, Keith Haring and other graffiti artists.

“They’ve used text and image to come up with some bold designs, specifically for this space in Tourism Island."

The winner was Yash Chopra, followed by runners-up, Henry Tang, Jack Breyer, Sonal Ohrie and Emma Tilbrook, all of whom are in the middle of a street art project.
