Gun suppliers who provided weapons used as a Chingford gang’s internal feud over drugs escalated into violence have been jailed.

The group were said to have brought misery and an atmosphere of hostility to the Chingford Hall estate.

The conflict culminated in three shootings on the estate in April, although no one was injured.

Earlier this year Jadine Mills, 22, was sentenced to 21 years after a loaded M1 Carbine Assault Rifle with a telescopic laser sight was found at her flat in Hall Lane, Chingford.

Ritchie Ibeawuchi, 23, of Hazel Way, Chingford, was jailed for 24 years for possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life and other gun offences.

On Tuesday Marcus Paul, 20, of Nelson Road, Chingford, was sentenced at Wood Green Crown Court to 12 years for conspiring to possess firearms with intent to endanger life.

Jeffrey Larbi, 20, of Walmer Close, Chingford, was sentenced to 10 years for the same offences and possessing a firearm.

An investigation by the Met’s Trident unit uncovered six guns and a large amount of ammunition.

Anthony Bennett, 28, of Beechfield Walk, Waltham Abbey, was jailed for 14 years and Dylan Addo, 20, of St Patricks Court in Epping, received 12 years for related offences.

Also jailed were Marcus Simpson of Corby, Northamptonshire, Ryan Groves, 39, of Lydford Road, Tottenham and Jerome Minott, 27, of Avenue Road, Acton.

Trident’s Detective Inspector Steve Meechan said: “This was a lengthy and protracted investigation into a dispute between members of the same gang.

“The criminal activity of those convicted has caused misery to local residents and the local area, creating a hostile place to live due to their violence, criminality and anti-social behaviour.”

He added that there had been no shootings on the estate since those in April 2012.

“Today’s sentencing should send out a clear message to gang members that tackling gang-related violence remains a key priority for the Met,” he said.

“Trident officers will continue to target and convict those who are involved in gang criminality, carry weapons and cause harm in London’s communities.”
