Redbridge A-level results better than last year
Figures released today show that 78 per cent of students gained at least one A*-C grade at A-level.
The figure represents an increase of two per cent on last year's results - and is up nine per cent on 2011.
The number of top grades awarded to A-level students nationally fell for the second year in a row, believed to be because more students are studying traditional subjects - generally thought to be harder to pass.
This year nearly 2,200 students took A-levels in the borough of Redbridge.
