Strike on London Overground Barking to Gospel Oak line to cause chaos over bank holiday weekend
A strike on the London Overground this weekend is set to cause bank holiday chaos.
Guards are staging a 48-hour strike affecting the Barking to Gospel Oak line over the bank holiday weekend in protest against plans to cut 130 jobs and introduce driver-only trains.
The strike will start at 00.01am on Sunday, August 25.
There are concerns that more than a one million people predicted to travel to the Notting Hill Carnival this year will put a strain on alternative travel services.
London Overground Rail Operations Limited said alternative arrangements will be put in place for the routes affected by the strike.
