A Loughton teenager admitted encouraging a child to have sex with him over a number of years
A teenager has admitted engaging in sexual activity with a child over a four-year period.
The 17-year-old from Loughton appeared in court last week originally charged with raping a girl under the age of 13.
But at Southend Magistrates’ Court on Friday both rape charges were withdrawn and replaced with one count of assault and one of intentionally inciting sexual activity with a minor.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, admitted engaging in sexual activity with the young girl, whose age has not been revealed, from December 2008 until October 2012.
He pleaded guilty to both charges and will appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on September 28 for sentencing.
