Walthamstow School for Girls adds to number of schools achieving best ever GCSE results today
A pair of identical twins achieved strangely similar results in their GCSEs.
Michaela and Rebecca Mason, of Walthamstow School for Girls, both achieved A*s in chemistry, biology and languages - Spanish for Michaela and French for Rebecca - an A in English language and a distinction in BTEC IT, which equates to four As.
The two will now go to Bancroft’s School to study for their A-levels, where Michaela wants to begin the “long road” to becoming a psychiatrist, while Rebecca isn’t sure what her future career will be.
The Church Hill school had 70 per cent of students achieve A* to C grades, including English and maths.
Head Teacher Meryl Davies said: "The girls have achieved the results which reflect their effort and hard work.
"Our staff have been extremely committed to supporting the students and share in my delight with these results."
