The St Clare Hospice, Hastingwood, will be open throughout the 26-week refurbishment project
The date for the beginning of refurbishment works at a hospice has been announced.
As of September 2, a 26-week project will begin to transform and develop the dining area, outpatient clinic rooms, the sanctuary and to add new therapy and meeting rooms.
Ongar building firm, Longshaw Construction Limited, has been chosen to complete the works.
St Clare Hospice was awarded £472,000 from the Department of Health, in April, after successfully submitting plans for its “Space to Breathe” project.
Chief Executive Tanya Curry said: “This is an exciting year for St Clare Hospice as we continue to improve the service and care that we offer our patients and their families.
“This wish list of improvements was put together following discussions with patients, families, volunteers, staff, trustees and other stakeholders and we’re very much looking forward to seeing those hopes and dreams come to fruition.”
All clinical services will be kept running throughout the building project.
