Open air opera comes to Wanstead Park for the first time
An open-air opera is to be performed in Wanstead Park for the first time this month.
A production of Gilbert and Sullivan's The Mikado will be put on by touring theatre company Illyria, which specialises in outdoor theatre.
Although there have been drama productions staged in the enclosure in the past, this is the first time audiences will be able to see an opera performed there.
The show starts at 6pm on Thursday.
