High number of flooding reports
There were more than 300 reports of flooding in Essex over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Essex County Fire and Rescue Service was inundated by calls on Saturday when rain swept across the county.
But it said most reports came from the east of Essex with areas including Rayleigh, Basildon, Billericay and Leigh worst affected.
Assistant Chief Fire Officer Dave Bill said: "Both our control operators and officers did an excellent job [on Saturday].
"We fielded and dealt with more than 300 calls to incidents involving flooding and our staff worked extremely hard in difficult conditions rising to the challenge [that the]...weather presented."
The service said there was such a large number of calls relating to flooding that it is unable to provide a break-down or further details.
