Redbridge buildings to take part in 'Open House' event next month
Historic buildings in Redbridge will be opening their doors next month as part of the annual 'Open House' event.
The London-wide project is designed to promote awareness and appreciation of sites in the capital, especially those which the public do not normally have access to.
This year's event takes place over the weekend of September 21 and 22/
Highlights in the borough including Wanstead's Grade I listed St Mary’s Church, the Sukkat Shalom Reform Synagogue in Hermon Hill, Wanstead, the Hospital Chapel of St Mary and St Thomas in Ilford and Redbridge Town Hall.
Redbridge buildings taking part in the event for the first time include Fullwell Cross Library, Gants Hill Children's Sculpture Beacon and the new sustainable housing block Marazin House in Glengall Road, Woodford Green.
The theme of this year's Open House, which began in 1992, is "celebrating architecture, people and places".
