Animal fans got a chance to see behind the scenes at a pet hospital when staff held an open day.
The PDSA PetAid branch, in Woodford Bridge Road in Clayhall, opened its doors on Wednesday to give the public a taste of its work.
The day also included children's activities including face painting, a “puppy party” display of pooches and a dog show.
There were also tours of the PDSA's animal cemetery at the site, which features graves of thousands of animals, including 12 recipients of the Dickin Medal – the animal equivalent of the Victoria Cross – for service helping the army during the Second World War.
