Blonde bombshell shaves her head for charity in Chingford
A glamorous 30-year-old hairdresser is having all her blonde hair shaved off to raise money for charity.
Danielle Lucas is “really panicking” after committing to having her head shaved on Saturday night at The Fountain pub in Station Road, Chingford.
Miss Lucas’s boyfriend’s sister, a mother of two small children, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
Miss Lucas praised her bravery, saying: “Because she’s got the two children she’s just had to get on and deal with it. She’s amazing really.”
Miss Lucas wanted to help and got the idea from a leaflet for the Little Princess Trust, who collect donated hair to make wigs for children who have suffered hair loss through illness.
She said: “I thought, ‘What is the one thing that I would find most difficult?’”
As well as raising money for Breast Cancer Care, Miss Lucas is also donating her beloved hair to the Little Princess Trust.
Miss Lucas has already smashed her £1,000 target with a current total of £1,200.
The Fountain has turned the occasion into a ‘charity ball’ with a selection of hosts and DJs providing entertainment so Miss Lucas hopes to raise the same again from revellers on the night.
Miss Lucas grew up in Chingford and has only just moved to Waltham Abbey from Ching Way.
She is hoping the locals will be out in force to support her as her friend shaves her head on a number one setting at around 9pm.
Miss Lucas said: “I dread to think what I’m going to look like.
“It makes me feel sick.
“It’s all for a good cause though.”
