Woman dead after 'incident' at property in Bushwood, Leytonstone
A woman has been found dead at a house in Leytonstone this morning.
The woman, believed to be in her 60s, was pronounced dead at the property in Bushwood next to Wanstead Flats.
Police have not been available to provide information this morning but a spokeswoman for the London Ambulance Service (LAS) said they were called to "reports of an incident".
She said that the emergency services were contacted just after 10.30am.
It is not yet known if police are treating the incident as a crime.
An air ambulance landed at Wanstead Flats just before 11am but left within the last half hour without taking any patients from the scene.
The LAS spokeswoman said: "We sent a single responder [car], an ambulance crew, a duty office and an air ambulance to the scene.
"Despite extensive efforts from our staff one patient, a woman reported to be in her 60s, died at the scene."
Police have not closed the road at this time.
The scene of the incident is very close to Sunbeams Day Nursery but it is not thought to be involved in any way.
