A man accused of abandoning stolen car in West End Avenue, Leyton, near Whipps Cross Hospital, before being traced by the police helicopter
The man arrested this morning after a car chase was driving a stolen car, police believe.
He has been arrested on suspicion of driving while disqualified, theft of a motor vehicle, assault and failing to stop for police.
The pursuit began shortly after 10am this morning when the man failed to stop in Shernhall Street, Walthamstow.
The car sped away from officers before being found a few minutes later, abandoned, in West End Avenue, near Whipps Cross Hospital.
Police, assisted by the Met’s helicopter, began a search for the driver who was found and arrested in a garden in West End Avenue.
