There were major delays on the M11 through Epping Forest yesterday after a truck caught fire.
It happened just before 12 noon on the southbound carriageway between junctions seven and eight, close to Harlow and Sheering.
A spokesman for the Essex Fire and Rescue Service said: "The cab of the truck was well alight when crews arrived, although the cargo - tyres - was unaffected.
"The entire southbound carriageway was closed while crews tackled the blaze.
"Crews wearing breathing apparatus and using three hose reel jets had extinguished the fire by 12.45pm".
There were no reports of any injuries.
