Death of woman at Lyncroft Care Home in Bushwood, Leytonstone, 'not suspicious' say police
The death of a woman at a care home for people with mental health difficulties last week was not suspicious, a police investigation has concluded.
The 63-year-old, who has not been named, was found unconscious in a bath at Lyncroft Care Home in Bushwood, Leytonstone, on Thursday morning.
The Met launched a probe following her death and initially said the force was keeping an "open mind" over the circumstances of it.
But today officers have announced they are no longer treating the death as a possible crime.
An inquest is expected to be held at a later date to determine what happened.
Lyncroft Care Home is a private facility in a converted house on the affluent Bushwood street, which overlooks Wanstead Flats.
It has 12 single rooms and caters for those with a variety of mental health conditions, including those detained under the Mental Health Act.
Lyncroft was last inspected by government watchdog the Care Quality Commission in January.
The inspector found that the home was meeting all standards of care.
