Leyton man guilty of sexual assault has sentencing postponed
A 43-year-old man convicted of sexual assault after groping a woman on a Tube tain has had his sentencing postponed until September 27.
Gurbax Athwel, of Villiers Close in Leyton, stroked one woman’s shoulder before rubbing another’s thigh on a Central line service at 7.30am on March 24.
The women reported the incident to station staff when they left the train at Snaresbrook.
Mr Athwel was banned from using the Underground and convicted of sexual assault on August 16 at City of London Magistrates’ Court.
His sentencing was originally scheduled for Friday September 6, but it has now been put back to September 27.
